Working with Images in Articles

Image Crediting: 3. Photo Credits when Using Your Own Photos

Image Attributions: Information about the image should be added to the fields in the Image Attribution window.

Caption: Captions can be embedded into the photo if desired, but are often hard to read, as in this example. They should always be added to the Caption field in the Image Attribution window. One reason why this is important is that search engines can not find key words if they are embedded in a photo, but they can find them in a caption. therefore, you may want to give  thought to the words you choose for your caption. If you use "key words", this may help search engines locate your article.

Photo Credit: A photo credit may be embedded into the photo if desired, but this is often hard to read, as in this example. The  photo credit should always be added to the Owner Name field in the Image Attribution window. This should list your name if you  took the photo. You can just list your name, or you can list "Photo credit" with your name, as shown. One reason why this is  important is that search engines can not find your name if it is embedded in a photo, but they can find it in a caption.
