Quicklink Policies

1- quicklinks should not include the name of the site it is from in our title.

2- people can only do one quicklink to their content, on their site or elsewhere, for each article they post. You can check the member page to see the balance of QLs to articles. They should be about even.

3-It is NOT acceptable to link to the front page of a blog, where articles cycle down and off the page. QLs must be made to permalink pages that stay the same.

4- It is not acceptable to create a quicklink to a site. If someone wants to support a site,  the appropriate way is to write an article or diary telling about the site and why people should visit it-- and to do it in a way that is not self-promotional.

If a writer does quicklinks to sites or articles that are not his or hers, that's fine. He or she can do lots of them. We welcome them. Some editors do five or ten a day or more. Thank you for those. The issue is using Positive Psychology to self promote the writer's own site with many QLs to his or her own writing.

If an article is little more than a link and some text, it should not be an article. That is not the case if there an embedded video. They are okay.
But if an article submission is a link with a few dozen or less words, then there is a button to convert it to a quicklink. Use it.

When editing quicklinks, I will  often look to see if images are available, or even try to source them from elsewhere.  We want as many images as possible for the front page.

BTW, if I see duplicates, then I delete the older one. I don't bother sending a rejection for it.
