I went out to my car this morning and, as I looked behind me to pull out, this is what I saw. You can see a bit of my car in the bottom left of the photo. There was this long single-file row of Canadian geese and goslings. This building is next to a creek. It seems these geese were walking around the building.
Here in this photo they are in the back. The video shows them walking around the front, passing the third building side they'd passed,  heading back to the creek. I think they were just taking a leisurely morning stroll.
My book, The Happiness Response (free chapters,) includes advice on planning for positive experience opportunities. I advise that you plan ahead to be prepared for unexpected opportunities for positive experiences. Think ahead, that if you encounter a positive experience (PE) opportunity, you'll be willing to break out of your planned schedule and give the opportunity some time and your full attention. We only have so many such opportunities and it's a real waste to throw them away by rushing through our pre-planned or routine schedule.
So, think to yourself something along these lines:
"Sometimes, I'm going to find myself in a situation where something unexpected has appeared. My intention is to give myself the permission to break out of my schedule and take the time to fully embrace the PE. When I encounter one of these moments, I will say to myself, "This is one of those moments."
I mention this because when I wrote the book, I'd had a similar encounter with a row of geese with goslings, like this. And it stuck in my mind as THE example of a good time to stop and smell the roses and embrace the PE opportunity.
Another one is seeing a great sunset or cloud formation or sun glittering in ice on a tree.
Enjoy your summer. May you encounter many PE opportunities.
